Vocabulary:

CPR:  Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.  This is a method used to start someone's heart when it stops

AED: Automated External Defibrillator.  this is a machine that helps to start someone's heart once it stops beating

Things to remember:

• Where the AED's are located (At Sunrise Ridge, they are in the gym, the faculty room, and the workroom by the library)

• Calling 911 and getting trained medical help there quickly is top priority.

• Getting an AED on the scene quickly will increase the victim's chance of survival.

• Performing "Hands Only" CPR should be done until trained medical help arrives.  It may be necessary to have someone switch in case of fatigue.
